Gardening Workshop
June 2008
Residents spent a lovely June afternoon getting their hands dirty while learning gardening tips from Guild for the Blind's gardening expert, Kathy Austin. With help from other Guild staff and her guide dog, Solomon, Kathy instructed Friedman Place residents on the proper way to care for and transfer plants and flowers into large pots, creating a beautiful sensory garden on Friedman's terrace. The workshop was part of Guild for the Blind's Next Steps workshop series, funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Many thanks to Kathy and Guild for the Blind for a fun learning experience! |
