Thanks to the Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Foundation (JGASF) and its partnership with the Chicago Park District, Friedman Place residents have enjoyed multiple sailing adventures this summer. The JGASF uses Freedom Independence 20 boats, which are designed specifically for disabled sailors and come equipped with many additional safety features. Each trip, participants are paired with an experienced staff member and take turns lowering and raising the sail and steering the boats on Lake Michigan. Friedman residents represent just a few of the more than one thousand participants that benefit from the JGASF program each year!
