Friedman Place's resident band, The Troubadours, entertained kids and their parents on Children's Memorial Morning Show this week.
The band played live for an audience and a closed-circuit television broadcasted the music to other children in their rooms.
Though the program featured sing along, kid-friendly tunes this time, The Troubadours play a wide range of familiar music, including oldies, blues, jazz, and country. The band members always donate the time for their performances, and feel that it’s a chance to educate the public about blindness and inspire others to overcome disabilities.
“It’s a way for us to give back,” says band member Wally Tomasiewicz, “we feel lucky that we’re able to do so.”
