Rabbi Ruthie Gelfarb instructed residents in the making of challah, from kneading and braiding the dough to seasoning and baking the loaves.
For most participants, it was their first experience making the traditional Jewish bread. While the bread baked, Rabbi Ruth explained the tradition of challah and its religious significance.
The residents enjoyed their loaves hot, straight from the oven.
Thank you, Rabbi Ruth, for this fun and meaningful activity!
