News at Friedman Place

Friedman Place’s new Therapy Dog, Saki, came to the organization as a Change of Career dog from Guide Dogs for the Blind. Raised in Oregon State by volunteer handlers, the little Labrador has become very comfortable in her new Chicago home. Friendly and laid back, Saki spends most of her day with dog-loving residents; they take her on walks and to play dates, and relax with her in the building’s common areas. With all the affection she receives, Saki is one happy pup!

We are the volunteer raisers of Sakima. She was and still is, a very loving little girl. We are very pleased that she has found a good home where she will be given all the love that she deserves.

We are assuming that you call her Saki as a shortened version of Sakima.

I too spent time with Sakima (now known as Saki) while she was being raised as a Guide Dog puppy in Oregon. I am the club leader and we focus on our puppies spending time with many people during their training so they are well adjusted. I knew in my heart that Sakima would make a great addition to your facility as she just loves to be loved by all who come in contact with her. Give her our love from Oregon.
