You can honor or remember loved ones, celebrate family milestones, and recognize important accomplishments with your contributions to Friedman Place. Honor, memorial, and tribute gifts multiply the good you do: you feel the satisfaction of giving, you communicate your esteem or joy, and you bring happiness to people who are blind or visually impaired. Friedman Place will send a lovely card announcing your gift and its purpose to whomever you designate. We recommend a minimum contribution of $25 for honors, memorials, and tributes.
Honor, memorial, or tribute gifts are appropriate:
- At times of celebration—births, birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, promotions, graduations, personal achievements, recovery from illness, a new house, a new job, a grand opening
- At times of remembrance—funerals (in lieu of flowers), unveilings, memorials, yahrzeit
- To celebrate religious and cultural occasions—Bat/Bar Mitzvahs, Confirmations, Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, Christmas, Baptism, etc.
- On secular commemorative holidays—Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents' Day, Valentine's Day, Secretary's Day, Boss's Day, etc.
To make an Honor, Memorial, or Tribute gift, you can give online following the instructions below, download and complete a Donation Form, or contact the Development Office: 773-989-9800.
To give an honor or memorial donation online:
- Click the "Donate" button.
- Enter your donation amount and click "Update Total."
- If you don't have a PayPal account and want to simply use your credit card, go to the link halfway down on the left: "Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue."
- Type in your billing and credit card info and click the "Review Donation and Continue" button.
- There will be a text link on the left middle of the page that says "Add special instructions to the seller." Click that to type a note like, "In memory of my mother."
- Then click the yellow button at the bottom saying "Donate Now."
